Team News: Fabio Borini starts for Liverpool against Sunderland

Fabio Borini is given a rare start for Liverpool in their match against Sunderland in the Premier League.

Fabio Borini has been named in the Liverpool starting lineup for their trip to Sunderland in the Premier League this afternoon.

The Italian striker, who enjoyed a successful loan spell at the Stadium of Light last season, has failed to score in 12 games so far this term. Borini's inclusion sees Rickie Lambert drop to the bench.

Brendan Rodgers has made one other change to his side following their 2-1 win over AFC Wimbledon in the FA Cup as Alberto Moreno replaces Javier Manquillo in defence.

Meanwhile, Sunderland boss Gus Poyet makes a total of four changes after seeing his team beat Leeds United in the FA Cup, as Wes Brown, Sebastian Larsson, Adam Johnson and Connor Wickham are all recalled.

Sunderland: Pantilimon; Vergini, van Aanholt, O'Shea, Brown; Bridcutt, Larsson, Gomez, Johnson, Giaccherini; Wickham
Subs: Jones, Graham, Alvarez, Buckley, Mandron, Agnew, Mannone

Liverpool: Mignolet; Can, Skrtel, Sakho, Moreno; Henderson, Lucas, Gerrard, Markovic, Coutinh; Borini
Subs: Ward, Enrique, Lovren, Lambert, Manquillo, Balotelli, Rossiter
