Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher believes that the "underrated" Roberto Firmino will be one of the first names on Jurgen Klopp's teamsheet.

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has claimed that Roberto Firmino will be one of the first names on Jurgen Klopp's teamsheet despite being "underrated" by others outside the club.

Firmino registered a goal and an assist as Liverpool ended Manchester City's unbeaten start to the season this afternoon with a thrilling 4-3 victory at Anfield.

The Brazilian has now directly contributed to 24 goals across all competitions this season, and Carragher rates him as one of the Premier League's best attacking talents.

"Firmino is one of the most underrated players in the Premier League - he's highly rated by Jurgen Klopp but outside Liverpool he's not mentioned when talked about top strikers," he told Sky Sports News.

"He's got 17 goals this season - he's the first name on the teamsheet. Yes, you've got Salah and Mane, but Firmino's hold-up play and work off the ball makes him one of the best attacking players in the Premier League. He's a top player."

Liverpool are now unbeaten in their last 18 matches across all competitions, with today's win lifting them up to third in the Premier League table.
