Antonio Candreva fires Lazio to victory

Antonio Candreva scores a late winner to give Lazio a 3-2 victory in their Serie A match against Parma.

Antonio Candreva scored a stoppage-time winner as Lazio beat Parma 3-2 in a thrilling Serie A match at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

The hosts took the lead in the 15th minute when Senad Lulic was picked out in the box by Abdoulay Konko and placed a composed finish past Antonio Mirante.

Parma came close to a response soon after when Ezequiel Schelotto saw his low strike saved by Federico Marchetti.

In the 26th minute the visitors did equalise. Antonio Cassano's long-range effort was parried by the keeper and Jonathan Biabiany followed up to score from the rebound.

After the break, Cassano worked himself an opening inside the box, before curling in a strike that was beaten away by Marchetti.

On the hour mark Lulic wasted a great chance to put his side back into the lead as he drove into the box before seeing his low effort blocked by Mirante.

Seven minutes later Miroslav Klose restored Lazio's advantage, as he was found just inside the area by Lulic and fired a strike into the bottom corner.

With nine minutes of the game left to play, Parma drew level for a second time after Michael Ciani diverted the ball into his own net.

Keita Balde had a chance to score a third for Lazio moments later, but after receiving the ball on the edge of the box, he could not get enough power on his shot to trouble Mirante.

Parma then wasted a huge opportunity of their own to take the lead. Biabiany's cross found Gianni Munari unmarked in the six-yard box, but the midfielder put his header over the bar.

In the third minute of stoppage time Lazio snatched all three points through Candreva, who met Keita's pull back to fire a strike high into the net and keep alive his side's hopes of qualifying for Europe next season.
