Half-Time Report: Newcastle United two up against Hull City

Goals from Moussa Sissoko and Loic Remy give Newcastle United a 2-0 half-time lead at Hull City in the Premier League.

Goals from Moussa Sissoko and Loic Remy have given Newcastle United a 2-0 half-time lead at Hull City in the Premier League this afternoon.

The visitors started on the front foot with Yoan Gouffran firing an early warning shot wide.

They were ahead in the 10th minute when they broke well after Tim Krul had denied Alex Bruce twice at the other end. Mathieu Debuchy cut back for his French teammate Moussa Sissoko, who fired into the roof of the net.

Moments later Bruce was causing problems again in the Newcastle box, but this time he couldn't test Krul as he headed over.

Hull had a great chance to level in the 27th minute when Nikica Jelavic was picked out in the box, but he could only head wide of the target.

The Croatian frontman then came even closer from a free kick soon after as his curling effort struck the crossbar.

Newcastle punished Hull for their missed chances three minutes before the break when Remy pounced on Maynor Figueroa's slack back-pass, rounded Allan McGregor and rolled into the net.
