Rene Meulensteen "delighted" with Fulham win

Rene Meulensteen says that Fulham's return of six points from three games is vital as they battle against relegation from the Premier League.

Fulham boss Rene Meulensteen has praised his team following their 2-1 victory over 10-man West Ham United.

The Whites have taken six points from their last three games, lifting them out of the Premier League drop zone.

Meulensteen was keen to ensure his players' heads did not drop following their 6-0 thrashing at Hull City.

"We got three points and we deserved them and it was hard work still against 10 men but I am delighted for the players," the Dutchman told Sky Sports News.

"We didn't want Hull to factor on today's performance - which it didn't - and six points in three games is good."

The Cottagers take on Sunderland in their next league assignment.
