Freiburg have completed the signing of former Manchester City midfielder Gelson Fernandes from Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon.
Coach Christian Streich was pleased with the deal to bring in the 26-year-old, and admitted that the club is looking at a number of further signings for their Europa League campaign.
"Gelson is a vastly experienced player, he works hard for his team," Sky Sports News quotes Streich as saying. "We are happy to have him and are out to sign two or three more players this summer."
Fernandes spent the second half of last season on loan at FC Sion in Switzerland.
