Team News: Sylvain Distin returns for Everton

Roberto Martinez welcomes Sylvain Distin back into the Everton starting lineup.

Sylvain Distin has been named in Roberto Martinez's starting lineup for Everton's home clash against Aston Villa, while Seamus Coleman also returns to the bench.

The French defender missed the midweek clash against Liverpool through injury, but has recovered in time to face Villa at Goodison Park.

Coleman, who has been a revelation for the Blues at full-back this season, takes a place on the bench after missing the past two games through injury.

Elsewhere, Kevin Mirallas will lead the Everton attack in the absence of Romelu Lukaku, who picked up an ankle injury in that midweek trip to Anfield.

Villa, meanwhile, will be looking to push on from their Midlands derby victory over West Bromwich Albion, and manager Paul Lambert starts with Grant Holt up front alongside Christian Benteke.

Everton: Howard, Stones, Baines, Jagielka, Distin, McCarthy, Barry, McGeady, Osman, Barkley, Mirallas
Subs: Joel, Hibbert, Naismith, Pienaar, Coleman, Vellios, Garbutt

Aston Villa: Guzan, Bacuna, Vlaar, Clark, Baker, Bertrand, Westwood, Delph, Weimann, Benteke, Holt
Subs: Steer, El Ahmadi, Sylla, Helenius, Albrighton, Tonev, Lowton
