Preview: Queens Park Rangers vs. Everton

Sports Mole previews Everton's trip to Loftus Road to play Queens Park Rangers.

Queens Park Rangers head into their fixture with Everton knowing that they need to bring a halt to their run of four successive defeats.

After Chris Ramsey replaced Harry Redknapp, it appeared as though the fortunes of the Londoners would improve, but failure to register any points since February 10 has left the club four points adrift of safety.

Last week's 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace highlighted the team's problems, especially in defence, and a higher work-rate and extra cutting edge in the final third is required when the Toffees visit Loftus Road.

Joey Barton could miss out through injury after competing a three-match suspension, but Mauricio Isla and Bobby Zamora could earn a return to the side.

Everton's chances of retaining their Premier League status improved last weekend with a 3-0 win over Newcastle United, but the Merseyside outfit were brought back down to earth on Thursday night when losing 5-2 to Dynamo Kiev in Ukraine.

Roberto Martinez's team were on the receiving end of some high-quality goals, but they need to ensure that the heavy setback doesn't hinder their hopes of survival.

After the long trip back to England, Martinez is likely to bide his time before deciding on his starting lineup but the Spaniard will be calling upon the experienced members of his squad to try to earn them a result against their out-of-form opponents.

Defender John Stones seems a certain starter after recovering from illness, but midfielder Gareth Barry is banned.

Queens Park Rangers:

Recent form: LWLLLL

Possible starting lineup: Green; Isla, Caulker, Onuoha, Yun; Wright-Phillips, Sandro, Henry, Phillips; Austin, Zamora

Everton:

Form in Premier League: DLDLLW
Form in all competitions: WLLWWL

Possible starting lineup: Howard; Coleman, Jagielka, Stones, Baines; Besic, McCarthy, Naismith, Atsu, Barkley, Lukaku

Sports Mole says: 1-2
