Former Everton striker Graeme Sharp believes that David Moyes is right to focus on the rest of the season as opposed to considering his future.

Former Everton striker Graeme Sharp believes that manager David Moyes is right to focus on the remainder of his side's campaign before making a decision on his future.

There have been rumours that the 49-year-old may come to the end of his tenure of just over 10 years at Goodison Park after he revealed that he will only discuss the possibility of a new contract when his current deal expires in the summer.

"There's been a lot of speculation about his new contract, but as he quite rightly says, he will cross that bridge when he comes to it in the summer," Sharp told talkSPORT "He wants to concentrate between now and summer to get that first trophy on board, to get them in Europe.

"David is very strong minded and will probably want to sit down with the chairman and have some reassurances made of where the club is headed. I know the supporters will be unhappy at this moment in time but David will say he's concentrating on the games in hand."

Meanwhile, the Toffees are preparing to take on Oldham Athletic in their FA Cup fifth-round replay tonight.
