Chelsea agree Filipe Luis deal

Chelsea agree a deal with Atletico Madrid for the transfer of Brazilian left-back Filipe Luis.

Chelsea have agreed a deal with Atletico Madrid for the transfer of Brazilian left-back Filipe Luis.

The Premier League outfit have been strongly linked with the defender since the end of the 2013-14 campaign, but the two clubs had been struggling to agree a price for the 28-year-old.

However, via a statement on their official website, Atletico have confirmed that an agreement is now in place.

"Atletico Madrid and Chelsea have reached an agreement to transfer the rights of Filipe Luis, pending the medical with the English club," revealed the Spanish champions.

Luis is expected to undergo a medical this week before signing a long-term deal at Stamford Bridge.
