Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola says that he has no regrets about missing out on Jorginho in the summer as Fernandinho has been in "incredible" form.

Pep Guardiola has said that Manchester City are getting on just fine without Jorginho in their ranks after missing out on the midfielder to Chelsea.

The Italy international has put his creative talents from deep to good use since arriving at Stamford Bridge from Napoli in a £57m deal five months ago.

Man City were considered the frontrunners to sign Jorginho in the months leading up to the summer transfer window, only for their Premier League rivals - under the management of ex-Napoli chief Maurizio Sarri - to pounce.

Guardiola has no regrets over the failed move, though, telling reporters: "He decided to go there. I'm not going to say it is a bad decision. He knows the manager, he knows the club - Chelsea, an exceptional club. So all the best.

"He was not coming to compete with Fernandinho but to be part of our team. Few, few players can do what he does. Few, few players all around the world. He can do virtually everything.

"What Fernandinho has done, not just this season but all the years we've been together, is incredible. Most of the good things we have in this moment is thanks to that guy. I am very pleased for him and sure he will continue that way."

Jorginho is expected to start for Chelsea when Man City travel to West London on Saturday.
