Chelsea want Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone to become their new manager at the end of the current season, according to a report.

Chelsea reportedly want Diego Simeone to become their new manager at the end of the current season.

Antonio Conte landed the Premier League title in his first year in charge of the Blues, but the Italian's long-term future at Stamford Bridge is believed to be far from secure.

The former Juventus head coach will only have one year left on his contract at the end of the 2017-18 campaign, and it is understood that Chelsea's transfer policy has led to a number of disagreements.

According to The Times, Chelsea are reluctant to sack Conte, but the London club believe that a mutual agreement for his departure could be reached this summer.

The report claims that Chelsea will then look to appoint Atletico Madrid boss Simeone as their new head coach, with the former Argentina international said to be considering his future at the Wanda Metropolitano.

The 47-year-old took control of Atletico in 2011, and has led the capital club to one La Liga title, one Copa del Rey and two Champions League finals.
