How Chelsea could line up against Huddersfield Town

Ahead of Saturday's Premier League meeting between Chelsea and Huddersfield Town at Stamford Bridge, Sports Mole looks at how the hosts could line up.

Chelsea face Premier League strugglers Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon, aiming to avoid a third straight top-flight defeat for the first time since November 2015.

The Blues followed up their 2-0 defeat at Arsenal with a crushing 4-0 reverse at the hands of Bournemouth in midweek - their heaviest league loss since 1996.

With supporters starting to question Maurizio Sarri's tactics, the Italian has to get things spot on for this weekend's visit of the division's bottom side.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Chelsea could line up at Stamford Bridge.

Possible CHE XI vs. HUD

Out: Marco van Ginkel (knee)
Doubtful: Gonzalo Higuain (back)

Higuain made minimal impact on his first league start for Chelsea in the heavy defeat at Bournemouth and the striker, struggling with a minor back complaint, is a fitness doubt for the meeting with Huddersfield.

Sarri will give the Juventus loanee every chance of being fit, though, or else he will have to turn to Olivier Giroud up top.

Eden Hazard is another option through the middle, though the Belgian - who has had a hand in nine goals in his last seven Premier League appearances against sides starting the day bottom - much prefers playing out wide.

Elsewhere, Emerson Palmieri looks likely to make way for Marcos Alonso after making his first league start of the season in midweek, while Andreas Christensen could come in for one of David Luiz or Antonio Rudiger in the heart of defence.

There is also a decision to be made in central midfield, as Mateo Kovacic has not done enough to hold down a spot, leaving the door open for one of Ross Barkley or fit-again Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
