Sunday's Chelsea transfer talk news roundup: Marcos Alonso, Timo Werner, N'Golo Kante

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer talk for Chelsea on Sunday, September 13.

The summer transfer window has now begun, with rumours and speculation continuing to swirl as Chelsea eye possible reinforcements.

The Blues failed to bring in a single player during the January window, despite seeing their transfer ban cut short by FIFA, but have already been busy this summer.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings from Stamford Bridge.

Sunday morning's Chelsea transfer talk news roundup:

Inter Milan 'determined to sign Chelsea's Marcos Alonso'

Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte has reportedly set his sights on a reunion with Chelsea full-back Marcos Alonso.

Conte made Alonso one of his first signings when he took over as Chelsea boss in 2016, but the left-back has since fallen out of favour under Frank Lampard.

Alonso is expected to see first-team opportunities harder to come by this season after Chelsea signed Ben Chilwell for around £45m, and the Blues are understood to be open to offers for the Spaniard.

Sky Sports Italia reports that Inter are at the front of the queue for his signature, with Conte determined to bring him to San Siro.

The Italian boss has already conducted a number of raids on the Premier League during his time as Inter boss, signing the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Christian Eriksen, Alexis Sanchez, Ashley Young and Victor Moses.

Alonso made 29 appearances for Chelsea across all competitions last season, scoring four goals.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard rules out Chelsea exit for N'Golo Kante

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has dismissed speculation linking midfielder N'Golo Kante with a move away from Stamford Bridge.

While Kante has emerged as a key player for the Blues since his arrival in 2016, the World Cup winner struggled with injury during the last campaign.

That has led to suggestions that Chelsea may offload the France international, potentially to Inter Milan, who are managed by former boss Antonio Conte.

However, Lampard has said that the 29-year-old will be remaining in West London, adding that he appears fully prepared for the upcoming campaign.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, Lampard said: "I think pretty much every club in the world would want N'Golo Kante. I saw those reports as well.

"He's an incredible player and I certainly don't want to lose him, no. He's fundamental to what I'm trying to do. We can obviously talk about the attacking players we have but someone like N'Golo and the work he does in midfield.

"It was a difficult year for him last year because of the injuries. He came into the season with an injury and it was a domino effect through the year which he hasn't had and was probably the culmination of game, game, game for himself so I'm really excited to have him fit.

"He looks fit and fresh at the moment so, no, he's a big deal to me and of course I want to keep N'Golo."

Kante is expected to feature in the starting lineup when Chelsea begin their Premier League campaign with a fixture at Brighton & Hove Albion on Monday evening.
