Mo Bangura starts for Elfsborg against parent club Celtic

Mo Bangura is included in Elfsborg's starting lineup for their Champions League clash with Celtic, despite being on loan from the Scottish club.

Celtic striker Mo Bangura has been included in the Elfsborg starting lineup to face the Scottish club this evening.

Bangura joined the Swedish side on loan earlier this season, but there was no clause in his contract that stipulated he could not play against the Hoops if the two teams were to meet.

The Sierra Leone international will face the Scottish champions in tonight's first leg of their Champions League third-round qualifier at Celtic Park, despite warnings from boss Neil Lennon.

The scenario means that Bangura could contribute to dumping his parent club out of Europe's elite competition over the two-legged tie.

Bangura has failed to score a single goal in Scotland since joining Celtic from AIK Stockholm in 2011.
