Tom Champion: Cambridge United must "stick together"

Cambridge United midfielder Tom Champion stresses the need for everybody to "stick together" during the club's run of poor results.

Tom Champion has urged everybody connected with Cambridge United to "stick together" as the club endures a poor run of form.

Following yesterday's 6-2 home defeat at the hands of Portsmouth, Richard Money's men are without a win in their last six League Two outings and have slipped to 16th in the table, just six points above the relegation zone.

However, having been a part of a Cambridge squad that has won twice at Wembley and held Manchester United to a 0-0 draw in recent months, midfielder Champion has issued a rallying call.

"Had the best moments of my life with this team over the past 18 months. This is a low point. Got to stick together now more than ever," the 28-year-old wrote on Twitter.

"Need the fans to stick with us and we'll move forward together. Thanks for the support."

The U's return to action when they play host to AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday.
