Conference Premier roundup: Barnet extend lead

Sports Mole rounds up Saturday's action in the Conference Premier as Barnet extend their lead at the top to eight points by beating Macclesfield Town.

Barnet have extended their lead at the top of the Conference Premier table to eight points after fighting back to beat Macclesfield Town 3-1 at the Bee Hive Stadium.

Adriano Moke had given Macclesfield a half-time advantage, but goals from Andy Yiadom, John Akinde and Curtis Weston earned the Bees the three points.

Grimsby Town lost ground on Barnet after they were held to a 1-1 draw away at AFC Telford United, who had goalkeeper Freddy Hall to thank for earning them a point.

Bristol Rovers have moved into third position after seeing off Welling United, while Woking are fourth after recording a narrow 1-0 success against Braintree Town.

Forest Green Rovers are two points off a playoff spot after beating Dartford by a 2-1 scoreline, while Torquay United and Halifax Town remain in contention after 2-0 wins over Eastleigh and Alfreton Town respectively.

Gateshead have slipped down to ninth place after Dover Athletic shrugged off the long trip north to record a 2-1 victory, and Kidderminster Harriers remain behind them after losing by the same scoreline at Altrincham.

Nuneaton Town made ground at the bottom of the table after beating Chester FC by the odd goal in five, and that result took them to within five points of Southport, who slipped to a 1-0 defeat at Lincoln City.

The other result of the afternoon saw Wrexham win their first league game since September 30 with a 3-1 triumph over Aldershot Town.
