Preview: Brighton & Hove Albion vs. Barnsley

Sports Mole looks ahead to Tuesday night's match at The Amex as managerless Barnsley travel to Brighton & Hove Albion.

Rockbottom Barnsley will be without a manager when they travel south to face Brighton & Hove Albion in the Championship on Tuesday night.

David Flitcroft was relieved of his duties after Saturday's 3-0 home defeat to Birmingham City, leaving assistant Micky Mellon in charge of the Tykes for Tuesday's game at The Amex.

Mellon has no fresh injury or suspension concerns but both Chris O'Grady and David Fox are pushing to be fit after missing out against Birmingham.

Hosts Brighton are unbeaten in six league matches, with Saturday's 1-1 draw at Bournemouth ending a run of three consecutive victories.

Manager Oscar Garcia could start Liam Bridcutt for the first time this season after he came on against Bournemouth, with Will Buckley also set to return in a three-pronged attack.

Inigo Calderon should continue ahead of Bruno Saltor at right-back but the former is one game away from picking up a fifth booking of the season that would see him sit out the next match.

Barnsley won the last meeting between these two clubs back in March thanks to goals from Jason Scotland and Chris Dagnall.

However, last season's match at The Amex ended in a convincing win for the Seagulls as they ran in five goals to Barnsley's one.
