Marcello Trotta scores just before half time to give Brentford a 1-0 lead over Leyton Orient in League One.

A goal from Marcello Trotta in stoppage time has given Brentford a 1-0 lead over Leyton Orient in their League One clash at Brisbane Road.

The visitors made a bright start to the match, as Clayton Donaldson had an early attempt, but his shot finished well wide.

The first real chance of the match fell to the hosts, when Kevin Lisbie rounded two defenders before playing the ball in for Dave Mooney, but his finish was lacking.

Mooney had another opportunity just a couple of minutes later, but his powerful drive just missed the right-hand post.

The Bees tried to halt a dominant spell by the hosts when Donaldson made a run into the box before trying to squeeze the ball under the keeper, but Eldin Jakupovic made the stop.

A scrappy final 15 minutes descended into a confrontation involving players from either side shortly before the half-time whistle, with pushing and shoving from both sets of players.

It looked like the teams would heading into the break level, but Trotta was able to put the visitors ahead in the final seconds of the first half after Jonathan Douglas set him up with a back-heel into the box, which the striker turned into the bottom corner for his 11th goal of the season.
