Gary Bowyer pleased with Blackburn Rovers victory

Blackburn Rovers manager Gary Bowyer is pleased to see his side win their first league game of the season against Barnsley at Ewood Park.

Blackburn Rovers manager Gary Bowyer was happy to see his side win their first league game of the season by beating Barnsley 5-2 at Ewood Park.

The home side had lost two of their first three Championship fixtures but goals from Tom Cairney, Joshua King and Todd Kane and a Jordan Rhodes brace gave them a much needed victory.

"We are pleased with the win but we can't get ahead of ourselves. We need to make sure we keep it going next week against Bolton," Rovers' official twitter account quotes him as saying.

"I hope the fans enjoyed it. We are working hard, it will take time, it will be a long process, but I'm glad that they've gone home happy."

Blackburn host Bolton Wanderers in the Championship on August 31.
