Javier Hernandez has revealed that he turned down interest from Juventus, Inter Milan, AC Milan and Roma to join Bayer Leverkusen from Manchester United in last summer's transfer window.
The 27-year-old represented Man United between 2010 and 2015, but was deemed surplus to requirements at the start of the season and sold to Leverkusen for a fee in the region of £7m.
The Mexican international has scored 17 league goals for Leverkusen this season, but he has claimed that a host of Serie A clubs also wanted to sign him from Old Trafford.
"Juventus, Inter, [AC] Milan, Lazio and Roma tried to sign me in the summer," Hernandez told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"I picked Leverkusen because of the Champions League and they made me feel wanted. They were convinced I could help them improve and that made me smile. Leverkusen have exercised an option for me and I have a contract until 2018. I have everything I need here."
Hernandez has hit 26 goals in 38 appearances for Leverkusen this season.
