Sebastian Squillaci double helps Bastia to victory

Sebastain Squillaci scores two first-half goals to help Bastia to a 3-0 victory over Toulouse in Ligue 1.

Bastia ended a run of four successive defeats in emphatic fashion with a 3-0 victory over Toulouse this evening.

Julian Palmieri headed the hosts into an early lead from close range to stun the visitors.

Sebastian Squillaci then netted two goals in the 32nd and 43rd minutes to give the hosts an unassailable lead at the break.

Toulouse tested Jean-Louis Leca on a number of occasions in the second period, with Ben Yedder forcing a smart save from the goalkeeper in the 62nd minute.

Martin Braithwaite was also presented with a chance to get a goal back for the visitors, but the forward flashed his header wide and the hosts cruised through the remaining 20 minutes to register their first win in more than a month.
