Atletico Madrid lead Sevilla 2-1 on the night and 4-2 on aggregate following the first half of their Copa del Rey semi-final second leg at the Estadio Ramon.

Atletico Madrid have put one foot in the Copa del Rey final following a strong first half at Sevilla in the second leg of their semi-final clash.

Diego Simeone's side have finished the opening 45 minutes with a 2-1 lead on the night - giving them a 4-2 aggregate advantage.

The visitors struck early as Diego Costa fired in a low shot past Beto with six minutes on the clock.

Sevilla could have drawn themselves level midway through the half, but Gary Medel headed Jesus Navas's cross wide of the post.

Madrid strengthened their position with half-an-hour played as Radamel Falcao got on the end of Costa's pass to fire in from close range.

However, the hosts pulled a goal back five minutes before the break through Navas's curled finish.
