Aston Villa's Paul Lambert fined £8,000 by FA for Chelsea comments

The FA fine Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert £8,000 for his comments made after his side's defeat to Chelsea.

The Football Association have announced that Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has been fined £8,000 for the comments he made following his side's defeat to Chelsea.

The Scotsman was charged with improper conduct when he claimed that a 'stonewall' penalty for Villa would have been given by the referee if Chelsea had suffered a similar incident.

The English governing body have issued the fine after Lambert admitted the charge of accusing a match official of being motivated by bias and/or brought the game into disrepute.

Villa lost the game 2-1 at Stamford Bridge on August 21.
