Half-Time Report: AS Monaco being held by Rennes at half time

Rennes and Monaco play out a goalless first half in their Ligue 1 encounter, with Benoit Costil keeping the hosts in the game.

Rennes are currently holding second-placed AS Monaco to a goalless draw at half time in their Ligue 1 encounter this evening.

Jean Makoun wasted a perfect chance for the hosts early on as he blasted over the bar from the centre of the box, as Kamil Grosicki looked to make the most of a counter-attacking move.

Joao Moutinho looked to respond for Monaco when he let fly with a long-range effort that skimmed over the crossbar.

Emmanuel Riviere was next to have a go as Monaco looked to dominate the first half, but he was denied by Benoit Costil, who tipped the ball away from his bottom corner.

Monaco continued to press for an opener before the break with Layvin Kurzawa seeing his effort saved in the centre of goal, while Riviere saw another attempt blocked just before the half-time whistle.
