Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is happy for Martin Odegaard to leave the Bernabeu on a permanent basis this summer, according to a report.

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is reportedly prepared to allow Martin Odegaard to leave the Bernabeu on a permanent basis during this summer's transfer window.

The Norway international joined Arsenal on loan in January after struggling to secure regular football with Los Blancos in the first half of the 2020-21 campaign.

Odegaard has impressed for the Gunners, scoring twice in 12 appearances, and it is understood that Mikel Arteta's side want to sign the playmaker on a long-term basis.

A recent report claimed that Madrid were not open to the idea of selling the Norwegian as they view him as a leading part of their plans moving forward.

However, according to Football Insider, Zidane 'does not like or want' Odegaard at the club next season and is happy to let him leave on a permanent basis.

Zidane's future at the Bernabeu is unclear, though, and the 22-year-old could allegedly remain with Los Blancos if there is a change of manager.

Odegaard has only made 11 first-team appearances for the Spanish champions.
