Arsenal and Newcastle United are reportedly contemplating whether to make an approach for AC Milan forward Rafael Leao during the summer transfer window.

AC Milan forward Rafael Leao has reportedly emerged as a potential transfer target for Arsenal and Newcastle United.

While the 22-year-old did not necessarily fire on all cylinders during his opening two seasons at San Siro, the Portuguese has enjoyed a more productive 2021-22.

Leao has contributed eight goals and four assists from his 25 appearances in Serie A and the Champions League, form which has inevitably led to interest from elsewhere.

According to Fichajes, Arsenal and Newcastle are monitoring the situation, aware that the attacker's contract is currently due to expire in 2024.

Both clubs will be in the market for a new frontman in the summer, the Gunners and Magpies potentially being in competition with each other should Newcastle avoid relegation from the Premier League.

Milan, who will almost certainly push to keep the player, are expected to demand well in excess of the €30m that they spent on Leao in 2019.
