Petr Cech: 'Arsenal unlucky to lose against West Bromwich Albion'

Arsenal keeper Petr Cech feels that his side should have taken at least a point from their Premier League clash against West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns.

Petr Cech has claimed that Arsenal were unfortunate to be beaten 2-1 by West Bromwich Albion in their Premier League clash at the Hawthorns.

The Gunners took the lead through Olivier Giroud, but James Morrison equalised for the Baggies before an own goal from Mikel Arteta put Tony Pulis's men ahead before half time.

Arsenal pressed in the second half and had the chance to draw level when they were awarded a penalty as Chris Brunt brought down Alexis Sanchez, but Santi Cazorla blazed the spot kick over the bar to condemn his side to defeat.

Cech told the club's official website: "I think we don't want to take credit from West Brom but across the 90 minutes we were the better side. We had chances and a lot of opportunities and we were unlucky as we scored an own goal.

"Apart of that, we were on top of them and looked like the side that was going to win the game, even in the second half. I thought when we had the penalty that we would still have a chance to search for the third goal but it was one of those games where it was not going our way.

"But I like our reaction and although everything went against us a bit, we kept going until the last minute and were still creating opportunities. We have to regroup and continue working."

Arsene Wenger's men dropped down to fourth place in the Premier League as a result of their defeat.
