Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe: 'Arsenal's Jack Wilshere will get warm reception'

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe says that Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere will get "a good reception" on his return to the Vitality Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has admitted that Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere made a positive impact at the Cherries during his loan spell at the club last season.

Last August, Arsenal allowed Wilshere to spend the entire campaign at the Vitality Stadium in a bid to gain regular football, and the England international went on to make 27 appearances in the Premier League.

Wilshere has since re-established himself in the Arsenal starting lineup, but Howe feels that Sunday's top-flight fixture will represent a "big game" for the player.

The 40-year-old told reporters: "This will be a big game for him (Wilshere), after what he did for us last year and I'm sure Jack will get a good reception from our supporters.

"He was popular in our dressing room. The players liked him and he fitted into the team well, and it will be good to see him again."

Wilshere is currently attempting to shake off an ankle injury in time for the match on the south coast.
