Newcastle Jets striker Emile Heskey reveals that he would be open to a move to a Russian club in the future.

Emile Heskey has admitted that he will consider offers of a move to a Russian club.

The 34-year-old is currently playing for Australian A-league side Newcastle Jets, though his contract expires in April.

The former England international has yet to discuss a new deal with the club and revealed that he is "open to suggestions" in terms of his next move.

"I've not sat down with the manager and the owner," said Heskey regarding a new deal.

"So, I'm open to suggestions. I think, with the league doing so well now, especially in Europe, it opens people's minds maybe to go to Russia and play there.

"Yes, I'd be open to that because there are some really good clubs. Anzhi, for me this club has just come on the scene, I've never heard about Anzhi before."

Heskey has scored five goals in eight games for Newcastle Jets this season.
