Novak Djokovic confident ahead of US Open

World number one Novak Djokovic insists that he is feeling confident ahead of the US Open following an indifferent run of form.

World number one Novak Djokovic has insisted that his confidence is high ahead of the US Open.

The Serbian has failed to win any of the last six tournaments that he has competed in following April's victory at the Monte Carlo Masters.

"You go through these periods, but my confidence is still there," Djokovic is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "This is a Grand Slam, so it is different from any other event. I love playing Grand Slams.

"I have a very good record at the US Open in the last five or six years, so I really look forward to it."

Djokovic, who won the US Open in 2011, has been drawn to face Lithuanian world number 112 Ricardas Berankis in round one of this year's event.
