Tennis Australia hopeful of talks with Bernard Tomic

Tennis Australia reveal that they are hoping to hold talks with Bernard Tomic as they look to bring him back for the Davis Cup semi-finals.

Tennis Australia have confirmed that they are hoping to hold talks with Bernard Tomic which could see him return to the team for the Davis Cup semi-finals.

The 22-year-old was left out of the squad following a recent dispute in which he accused the governing body of a lack of support after there were suggestions that he and his sister Sara would see their funding cut due to comments made by their father.

However, Tomic, who was arrested for an altercation at a Miami hotel last week, could be offered a way back into the Davis Cup side.

Tennis Australia president Steve Healy said: "We think Tomic's criticisms are unjustified - he needs to hear that. He needs to get some detail and we want to bring him back into the fold.

"I think the important thing to understand is he's had fantastic support from Tennis Australia and we want him to understand and appreciate that and then welcome him back into Davis Cup."

Australia meet Great Britain in the semi-finals in September.
