Wolves pair Dave Edwards, Michal Zyro ruled out for lengthy injury spells

Wolverhampton Wanderers confirm that Dave Edwards and Michal Zyro will be out for 12 and six weeks respectively with injuries.

Wolverhampton Wanderers pair Dave Edwards and Michal Zyro have been ruled out of action for more than a month each due to injuries.

Edwards is expected to be on the treatment table for 12 weeks after breaking his fifth metatarsal during Saturday's 1-1 draw against Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road.

Zyro will miss six weeks of action after suffering a calf injury last week.

Head of medical Phil Hayward told the club's official website: "Unfortunately Dave fractured his fifth metatarsal during a tackle in the game on Saturday. It is an injury which will need surgery to be repaired which he will have done early this week.

"Following that the normal rehabilitation time is around 12 weeks so we expect Dave to be out of action until around the middle to end of April. Michal has sustained an injury to his calf which is complicated in that it is not just the muscle affected but the tendon structure between the muscles as well.

"It is a very important structure because there is a lot of load transmitted through that part of the leg and so it needs to heal completely and be 100 per cent strong before Michal goes back into competition again. We expect the rehabilitation process to be between six and eight weeks but will also be re-scanning the injury on a regular basis and will be led by the scan results as well as how he is symptom-wise."

Wolves are currently 12th in the Championship table.
