Goals from Frederic Bulot and Igor Vetokele give Charlton Athletic a 2-0 half-time lead over Wigan Athletic in the Championship.

Charlton Athletic have headed into half time with a 2-0 lead over Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium in the Championship this evening.

The home side came close to opening the scoring inside the first 10 minutes when Leon Clarke tried to head in from a corner, but Stephen Henderson managed to tip the ball behind.

Sheyi Ojo started to use his pace to create a couple of openings for Wigan, but Marc-Antoine Fortune fired wide, while another move was curtailed when the on-loan winger was brought down by Yoni Buyens.

Despite the Latics' bright start, it was the visitors who opened the scoring when Frederic Bulot burst down the left before cutting inside and rifling the ball in from the edge of the box.

Charlton wanted a penalty shortly after when Morgan Fox took a tumble in the box, but Wigan managed to scramble the ball clear as the referee turned down the visitors' shouts for a spot kick.

An injury to Clarke left the sides with 10 minutes of stoppage time to play before the interval, and the visitors capitalised as Bulot fired a cross in from the left to set up Igor Vetokele for a header from close range, doubling their lead.
