David Moyes broke an unwanted Premier League record on Saturday afternoon as his West Ham United side suffered a 1-0 defeat against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

The Hammers had 14 attempts during the clash in the English capital, but a 78th-minute strike from Alexandre Lacazette saw Mikel Arteta's side pick up all three points.

The defeat was West Ham's 16th in the Premier League this season and has left them in 16th position, level on points with 18th-placed Bournemouth on the same number of matches.

Moyes - who has also managed Everton, Manchester United and Sunderland in the top flight - has incredibly now not won at Arsenal in 16 attempts, which is a new Premier League record. Indeed, the Scot has drawn four and lost 12 of his 16 visits to the Gunners in the Premier League.

Moyes has also gone 15 games without a victory away to both Chelsea and Liverpool, a record he previously jointly held with Harry Redknapp, who went 15 games without winning at Manchester United.

The Hammers did triumph at Stamford Bridge earlier this season although Manuel Pellegrini was still in charge of the capital side for that 1-0 victory.

West Ham will be looking to return to winning ways when they welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers to the London Stadium next Sunday before travelling to bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur on March 20.
