Preview: Millwall vs. West Bromwich Albion - prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews the Championship clash between Millwall and West Bromwich Albion, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

League leaders West Bromwich Albion travel to the Den to face Millwall in their next Championship game on Sunday.

The Baggies will be hoping to maintain their position at the top of the table with a win, but the London outfit have lost just twice at home in the league this season.

Millwall have been unlikely challengers for the playoffs since Neil Harris was replaced by Gary Rowett, with the former leaving for Cardiff City.

However, their strong upsurge in form since the change of manager has tapered off somewhat, with just one win in their last five across all competitions.

The Lions now find themselves ninth, five points adrift of sixth-placed Bristol City with a game in hand.

The reverse league fixture earlier this season ended 1-1 at The Hawthorns, while their cup clash three days later saw Millwall triumph 2-1.

As a result, Slaven Bilic's side will be keen to exact revenge but face a difficult task against a Millwall side that rarely lose at home.

West Brom do boast the best away form in the league, however, winning eight and losing just two of their 15 games on the road so far this term.

Additionally, the Baggies are the highest scorers in the Championship, netting a whopping 53 goals in just 30 games, and are the only side to have hit more than 50 so far.

Only a win can guarantee West Brom top spot at the end of the weekend, with title challengers Leeds United just one point behind in second place.

Team News

Millwall manager Rowett only has a few injury concerns to deal with ahead of the visit of West Brom on Sunday.

Frank Fielding and Ben Thompson are both still facing several weeks on the sidelines as they recover from their respective issues.

Ryan Leonard, however, may be in contention but is still doubtful and may not be risked.

West Brom boss Bilic has a similarly short injury list ahead of the Baggies' visit to London.

Grady Diangana remains sidelined, but Kieran Gibbs is back in training as he works his way back from his latest injury setback.

Millwall starting lineup:
Bialkowski; Romeo, Hutchinson, Cooper, M. Wallace; J. Wallace, Williams, Woods, Ferguson; Smith, Bradshaw

West Bromwich Albion possible starting lineup:
Johnstone; O'Shea, Ajayi, Bartley, Townsend; Sawyers, Livermore; Phillips, Krovinovic, Robinson; Austin

The Den is a difficult place to visit, but West Brom have the best away record in the league and the Championship leaders may just edge their way to an important win.
