Victor Anichebe enthused by Tony Pulis effect

Victor Anichebe enthuses that the Tony Pulis effect on West Brom is clear for all to see after the 0-0 draw away to Everton.

Victor Anichebe has paid tribute to his West Bromwich Albion teammates for winning a hard-fought point in tonight's 0-0 draw away to Everton.

Tony Pulis's side finished the clash with just 32% possession and survived a scare when Kevin Mirallas drilled a penalty wide of Ben Foster's goal before the break.

The result represented Albion's third successive clean sheet since Pulis replaced Alan Irvine earlier this month, and Anichebe is enthused by the Baggies' new-found resilience.

"Yeah I'm happy with the result," the 26-year-old, who spent seven years at Goodison Park, told Sky Sports News. "It was a tough result.

"When I was at Everton you always hear how other teams say how hard it is to come to Goodison and it was the same today, was a really difficult game, but we were patient.

"The manager has come in, got us defending as a team, and I think you saw that today and hopefully we can build on that."

Pulis's men sit two points and four places above the relegation zone.
