Matej Vydra: 'I have a point to prove against West Bromwich Albion'

Matej Vydra admits that he has a point to prove ahead of Watford's meeting with West Bromwich Albion.

Matej Vydra has admitted that he has a point to prove ahead of Watford's meeting with West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

The Czech forward spent the 2013-14 campaign on loan to the Baggies from Udinese, but he could only score three goals in 23 Premier League appearances and his hopes of becoming a key figure at The Hawthorns were quickly dashed.

However, a second spell with Watford last season ended in success as the 23-year-old scored 16 goals to play a vital role in securing promotion, and he is hopeful of proving his quality to his former club.

"It was a disappointing time so I have something to prove," Vydra, who joined Watford permanently on a five-year deal in the summer, told reporters.

"It's a step up but feel I can score goals there for Watford. I'm thankful we went up so I could have another opportunity."

Vydra was an unused substitute in last weekend's 2-2 draw with Everton at Goodison Park.
