Allan Nyom apologises to Watford fans for celebrating West Bromwich Albion goal

West Bromwich Albion defender Allan Nyom apologises to Watford fans for celebrating one of his side's goals during the Baggies' win at The Hawthorns.

West Bromwich Albion defender Allan Nyom has apologised to Watford fans for celebrating one of his side's goals during their win at The Hawthorns on Saturday.

The 28-year-old celebrated in front of the fans of his former club following Matt Phillips's 90th-minute strike having been jeered by the Watford supporters throughout the match.

However, he has now insisted that he never meant to disrespect the club or its fans and stressed his desire to see them do well this season.

"I just want to apologise to the Watford FC fans because, unfortunately, it seems that my celebration during the Saturday game was considered as a lack of respect," Nyom wrote on Instagram.

"Sincerely, it never was my intention to disrespect the club or the fans, and I apologise to them if they have felt it. In my heart there is only gratitude and my best wishes for all Watford FC family."

Nyom made 37 appearances for Watford in 2015-16 before moving to the Baggies during the summer.
