Luciano Vietto: 'We can hold our heads high'

Villarreal striker Luciano Vietto says that his team can be proud of their performance during Sunday's 3-2 defeat at Barcelona.

Villarreal forward Luciano Vietto has admitted that the Yellow Submarine were "a little sad" to leave Barcelona without any points at the weekend.

Marcelino's side twice led at Camp Nou, but were eventually beaten 3-2 following two quick-fire goals from the hosts.

"We are a little sad at the outcome but we left with our heads held high because we were up against a great team," Vietto told reporters.

"We scored the first goal and they equalised. We scored the second and they equalised again.

"Then they got a third and in the end we couldn't quite manage it. But Barcelona are among the best in the world at how they move the ball around."

Vietto, who scored Villarreal's second at Camp Nou, has netted 15 times in 28 games this season.
