Half-Time Report: Ki Sung-yueng deflection hands Swansea City lead

Swansea City lead Hull City 1-0 at half time thanks to Jonjo Shelvey's low drive taking a big deflection off Ki Sung-yueng.

Swansea City benefitted from a slice of good fortune to take a 1-0 lead into the break of their Premier League match at Hull City.

Jonjo Shelvey's strike took a huge deflection off Ki Sung-yueng and span into the back of the net in the 15th minute.

Hull had begun strongly, and Ashley Williams was relieved to see Nikica Jelavic shoot wide of the upright from 18 yards after the Swansea skipper had gifted the ball to his opponent.

Gaston Ramirez then flashed an effort narrowly wide as the visitors lived dangerously in the opening few minutes at the KC Stadium.

However, they took the lead in fortuitous circumstances when Shelvey's low drive took a wicked deflection off Ki and rolled into the empty net, with Alan McGregor wrong-footed.

Andrew Robertson then rattled the crossbar before Abel Hernandez tested Lukasz Fabianski as Hull looked threatening in attack again.

Nonetheless, they were mightily relieved to see Shelvey's powerful shot flick off the outside off the post before rolling away to safety in the moments before the interval.
