Sunderland boss Paolo Di Canio admits that he will completely overhaul his side if they survive in the Premier League this season.

Sunderland boss Paolo Di Canio has revealed that he will "change everything" at the club in the summer if they stay in the Premier League.

The Black Cats are four points clear of the relegation zone, following their 1-1 draw with Southampton and 18th-placed Wigan Athletic need to win both their remaining games to surpass them.

Di Canio said: "Let's be sure we can keep the club up, and then I change everything. I will keep the right players. Bring in the right players. This is not a secret. There will be many changes. It is crucial to have the right quality.

"When I came I knew the quality we had, Adam Johnson, John O'Shea etc. But not to accuse anyone, the environment was dead. It was dead.

"There is not a bond. The team is not close together. Good fellas, but every one in little groups. But when we stay up I can tell you that it is a miracle."

Since taking over at the beginning of April, the Black Cats have taken eight points from six games.
