Charlie Adam: 'We had to deal with Wilfried Bony'

Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam claims that stopping Swansea City's Wilfried Bony in their Premier League clash was key to claiming all three points.

Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam has claimed that stopping Swansea City's Wilfried Bony was the key to their 2-1 victory in the Premier League this afternoon.

The home side came from behind to beat the Welsh outfit, who were aggrieved by the referee's decision to award a first-half penalty to Stoke after what appeared to be a dive from Victor Moses.

"Wilfried Bony caused us problems in the first half, there were too many balls in to his feet, but once we got to grips with that we settled in and managed to play and in the end we dominated the second part of the game and deserved the victory," he told Sky Sports News.

"I thought it was a penalty, Angel Rangel stuck a leg out, it's a penalty and it brought us back in the game."

Bony had sent Swansea ahead from the spot after Ryan Shawcross felled the Ivorian inside the box.
