Tottenham Hotspur are allegedly handed a boost in the race to sign Juventus winger Juan Cuadrado during the summer transfer window.

Juventus are reportedly struggling to extend Juan Cuadrado's contract past the end of the current campaign, a situation which is said to interest Tottenham Hotspur.

The 33-year-old's versatility down the right-hand side has made him an important player in Massimiliano Allegri's squad this season, the Colombia international making a total of 40 appearances in all competitions.

However, according to journalist Pipe Sierra, Juventus are still unable to tie the player down to fresh terms given that a new deal would come on a lower wage.

Despite the potential of a three-year contract, it is claimed that Cuadrado will continue to reject the current proposal, increasing the chances of him becoming a free agent.

Tottenham Hotspur are said to be monitoring the situation with head coach Antonio Conte likely to value Cuadrado in a similar way to Allegri, his versatility being key at this stage of his career.

Aside from a disappointing spell at Chelsea during the second half of 2015-16, Cuadrado has played his football in Italy since 2009.
