Half-Time Report: Jamie Mackie's goal puts Reading in front

Jamie Mackie's goal gives Reading a 1-0 lead at half time against Rotherham United in the Championship at the Madejski Stadium.

Jamie Mackie's goal has given Reading a 1-0 lead at half time against Rotherham United in the Championship at the Madejski Stadium this evening.

Reading had Anton Ferdinand to thank when the defender hacked cleared after Adam Federici had dropped the ball after clattering a teammate when collecting a cross.

The Royals had the lead shortly before the half-hour mark through Mackie after he had got on the end of a cross from Stephen Kelly.

Simon Cox almost extended the lead for the home side shortly after when he met Oliver Norwood's cross, but his effort was well saved by Millers keeper Adam Collin.

Collin was also alert towards the end of the half to deny Mackie's low drive before Norwood's free kick rattled the cross bar.
