Zinedine Zidane: 'Real Madrid have achieved nothing yet'

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane warns his side that they have achieved nothing yet, despite clawing their way back into the La Liga title race.

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has insisted that his side have achieved nothing yet despite clawing their way back into the La Liga title race.

Los Blancos appeared to be out of the running when they found themselves 10 points adrift of Barcelona, but victory in El Clasico at the start of the month sparked a dramatic collapse from the reigning champions.

The gap between the top three is now just one point after Barcelona lost a third consecutive league game last weekend, and with Real also in the Champions League semi-finals, Zidane has attempted to curb the expectations of his side.

"We're in a good situation but have not achieved anything yet. To talk about us going to win everything... I don't like it," he told reporters.

"We have the fortune to be able to play for La Liga and the Champions League. But nothing has been won yet. There is a lot of talk about winning everything but the players are focused on what we must do.

"They know it will not be easy at all. We are capable of doing it, yes. We are getting closer, but that does not mean anything yet. We must work, battle until the last game, the last minute. I can assure you of that - we will work hard."

Madrid take on Villarreal at the Bernabeu on Wednesday night.
