Adam Federici pays tribute to Phillip Hughes

Adam Federici pays tribute to the late Phillip Hughes by placing a cricket bat behind his goal during Reading's Championship game with Norwich City.

Reading's Australian goalkeeper Adam Federici paid tribute to the late Phillip Hughes by placing a cricket bat behind his goal during his side's victory over Norwich City.

Hughes died on Thursday from injuries sustained after being struck on the head by a bouncing cricket ball two days prior.

A Twitter tribute for Hughes went viral yesterday with thousands of cricket players and fans taking pictures of cricket bats with caps on, accompanied by the hashtag #putoutyourbats.

Reading's goalkeeper paid his own tribute to his late countryman, by placing a cricket bat behind his goal throughout the match, swapping it to the opposite end after half time. You can view a picture of Federici's tribute in the tweet below:

Tributes have been flooding in for Hughes since his death shocked the sporting world.
