Nigel Adkins: 'Reading must be on top form against Burnley'

Reading manager Nigel Adkins believes that his side must be at the top of their game to avoid disappointment against Burnley in their crucial final league fixture.

Reading manager Nigel Adkins has claimed that his side can't afford to be below their best when they take on Burnley in their final league fixture on Saturday afternoon.

The Royals currently occupy sixth spot in the Championship, but Adkins believes that their hopes of securing a place in the playoffs will disappear if they don't hit top form against Burnley, who have already been promoted.

"We're facing a team who's just been promoted, they will come to our place and give us nothing," Adkins told reporters. "We've got to be right at it.

"The mind-set has to be to win. We won our last home game, won on Saturday and showed we can come from behind."

Brighton & Hove Albion and Blackburn Rovers are the two teams in contention to snatch a playoff place away from Reading.
