Nicky Law relying on fans when he returns to face old club Motherwell

Nicky Law is expecting the help of the Rangers fans when his side face Motherwell in Thursday's playoff final.

Rangers midfielder Nicky Law has called on the fans to give his side a boost when they face Motherwell in the playoff final for the Scottish Premiership on Thursday.

Law, who has featured in every match for the Light Blues this season, played 76 games for Motherwell in the two seasons he spent at the club.

"Now that we've got the fans right behind us we feel we can do it," Law told Rangers official website. "They were fantastic again at Easter Road as they were on Wednesday and we'll need that again on Thursday - packing out Ibrox as they do.

"It's difficult for all players to go back and play against your old team. It's always strange to do that and obviously added to that my brother plays there and at right back, with me out on the left hand side these days - so it's going to be difficult for my family.

"We know it's going to be tough and we will be hoping to do as much as we can in the home game like we did the other night against Hibs. Maybe they have been struggling a little and we've been playing well at home, so we'll be looking to take a lead into the game at Fir Park on Sunday which is a hard place to go."

Law played under Rangers' current manager Stuart McCall at Motherwell, as well as assistant manager Kenny Black.
