Richie Barker slams Portsmouth players

Portsmouth manager Richie Barker says that the 5-1 defeat against Scunthorpe United is a "very disappointing day" for the club.

Richie Barker has slammed his Portsmouth team for their performance in the 5-1 defeat against Scunthorpe United.

Pompey were soundly beaten at Glanford Park, with David Syers grabbing a hat-trick and Sam Winnall and Paddy Madden scoring the other two.

Speaking after the match, Barker insisted that some of his players "need to have a good look at themselves".

"One or two people need to have a good look at themselves. I know what I saw and I will watch it again and we'll go through it again," Barker told the Portsmouth News.

"The statistics say that for three years we haven't won back-to-back away games. And I don't think we've won a back-to-back game all season.

"That speaks volumes to me that we haven't got enough players who do the right things. It's a very disappointing day for the club."

Pompey are 21st in the League Two table.
